Peter Barfoot

Peter has been working in the Insurance Industry since 1978, commencing his career with Lumley General Insurance in Adelaide. He moved to Port Lincoln in late 1980 and later commenced his own business ‘Peter Barfoot & Associates’.

Peter is an Associate of the Aust & NZ Institute of Insurance & Finance and holds an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning through the FPA.

He has recently completed studies for the Diploma in Financial Services- Insurance Broking leading to QPIB status.

He is married to Jo with two daughters Katelyn & Annaliese. He’s a Life Members of the Apex Club and enjoys sailing and fishing in his spare time.

In May 2007 Peter joined with West Coast Insurance Brokers forming a joint venture business where he is both Manager and shareholder.

Tony McBride

Tony started his careeer with an insurance company in Adelaide 40 years ago. He has travelled and worked in insurance offices in Perth, London and Alice Springs.

Tony has vast insurance experience, having worked in city, internationals and metropolitan insurance broking houses and run and insurance broking office in the outback.

Tony joined West Coast insurance Brokers in 1992 as office manager and has assisted with providing the specialised insurance coverage essential for the ongoing protection of the fishing industry and aquaculture industries in the region.

Tony is the proud father of three adult children who all live and work in Adelaide and he takes the opportunity to return to Adelaide regularly to catch up with his family.

Tony holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking).

Ben Simpson

Ben has come from a family farming background in Jamestown, Mid North SA, where after finishing school he joined the ANZ Bank.

He transferred to Port Lincoln with the Bank in 2006 and later joined ABB Grain as regional sales manager - Rural Finance & Insurance for the Eyre Peninsula – an obvious choice with Ben’s finance & banking background.

It was during this time that Ben gained his first insurance qualifications and changed his focus toward Insurance. Ben joined West Coast Insurance Brokers in April 2010 and is currently studying for his Diploma of Financial Services – Insurance Broking.

Ben plays football for United Yeelanna and Basketball for Tasman’s, enjoys fishing and traveling the Eyre Peninsula and mixing with the locals.

In his role with West Coast Insurance Brokers, Ben arranges all classes of Business and Personal insurance with a particular focus on Rural Insurance.

Michelle Rushby

Michelle commenced her career in insurance over 20 years ago as personal assistant to Kevin Wiebrecht who established West Coast Insurance Brokers in 1989.

In 1991, she married her English husband Gordon and lived in the UK for 4 ½ years, starting her family and having a break from insurance for 6 years.

Michelle worked part-time for West Coast Insurance Brokers whilst her children Georgina, Charlotte and Pretoria were young, returning to full-time insurance work in 1999.

Michelle holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and has many years of insurance experience specialising in Business and Marine insurance fields.

As a mother of three, outside of work Michelle is kept busy with her family commitments and enjoys scrapbooking and spending time with friends.

Amy Schmucker

Growing up on the family farm in central Eyre Peninsula, Amy moved to Port Lincoln in 2007. She began working part-time at M&M Tree & Earth Removals and at the Port Lincoln Times, before commencing full-time work at West Coast Insurance Brokers in 2009.

Amy has obtained a Certificate II in Business and Certificate III in Business Administration through TAFE, along with Tier 2 accreditiation in General Insurance.

Amy’s role includes Personal Lines and Farm Insurance Broking and claims management.

Amy enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her Tenterfield Terrier X, "Frank".

Donna Myers

Donna is originally from Melbourne and has been living in Port Lincoln since 2003.

Having completed her Victorian Certificate of Education, Donna joined the Insurance Industry in 2000 where she worked for Dexta Corporation in administration in the Professional Indemnity and Directors & Officers insurance sector and as a receptionist for Gerling Australia.

Since moving to Port Lincoln Donna has worked with Peter Barfoot & Associates and now West Coast Insurance Brokers during which time she has completed her FSRA training.

In 2008 Donna married Gavin having their wedding in Phuket, Thailand and in 2009 she embarked on the journey of motherhood having a beautiful baby girl Skye.

Donna continues to work for West Coast Insurance Brokers on a part time basis while raising Skye.

Kevin Wiebrecht

Kevin is a specialist in the field of Aquaculture Insurance and has lead the way in this class of business for a number of years. 

Kevin consults to West Coast Insurance Brokers.

Darren Milne

Darren is the Managing Director of Milne Alexander, joining the family business in 1985 he took over the management and ownership in 2003.  Darren has been heavily involved in all of the companies five acquisititions, including West Coast Insurance Brokers.

Darren has held and holds various company board positions, he also formed and held the positon of managing director of an udnerwriting agency predominately involved in the Aquaculture insurance sector in 2000. He holds a Diploma in Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (QPIB) with our industry body NIBA.
